Instagram Data Deletion Instructions
212 Renovations Group uses an internal staff tool to read and answer messages and comments sent to our own Instagram account, @212renovations. If you have contacted us on Instagram, this page explains what we store, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
1. What we store
If you send us an Instagram direct message, or comment on one of our posts, we may store:
- Your Instagram username and the account’s public display name and profile picture
- The text of the messages or comments you sent us, and our replies
- The time each message or comment was sent
- Internal notes our staff add while handling your enquiry, such as who it was assigned to
We store this only so that our office staff can read and answer you. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
2. How long we keep it
Instagram conversations and comments are deleted automatically 90 days after their last activity. You do not need to do anything for this to happen.
3. How to request deletion sooner
To have your data erased before then, email us:
office@212renovations.com
Subject: Instagram data deletion request
Please include the Instagram username you contacted us from, so we can find your records.
You may also write to us at the postal address below, or call us, if you would rather not send email. We will not ask you for a password, a payment method, or any identity document — if anyone claiming to be us does, it is not us.
4. What happens next
- We will confirm receipt of your request within 5 business days.
- We will delete the data within 30 days and confirm when it is done. This covers your conversation threads and their messages, your comments and mentions we have stored, and any internal notes attached to them.
- We may keep a minimal record that a deletion request was made and honoured. That record does not contain the content of your messages, and exists so we can show the request was carried out.
- We may also need to keep information separately where the law requires it — for example, records relating to a signed contract or a paid invoice, if you became a customer. We will tell you if that applies to you.
5. Deleting your side of the conversation
Deleting your data from our systems does not remove the messages from Instagram itself, which is run by Meta rather than by us. You can delete messages and comments in the Instagram app, and you can review or remove the apps connected to your account in Instagram’s own settings.
